With a grant from the Quality Education Fund, the school opened a Staff Common Room in 2009. It was converted from the janitor's dormitory at the other end of the teaching block.
The idea of setting up a common room for teachers originated from teachers' desire for a place to hold social gatherings amid the tense schedule of work during school hours. With a room installed with air-conditioning and toilet facilities, it has become an ideal venue for holding birthday parties, casual chats and short breaks.
However, as the Common Room is a bit distant from the main teaching block, teachers are not yet used to making frequent use of the room. Also there have been plans to re-assign the functions of the rooms in school as a result of the implementation of the NSS and the shift of the medium of instruction, the room may have to be relocated in the future.
